Our car will start.
Our favorite sports team will win a championship.
The sun will shine (some days).
That we will be alive tomorrow.
That we will grow up, get married, and have a family.
That we will have a career and make enough money for our family.
That our children will grow up and be more successful than we were.
That we will be loved by someone.
But do we believe in Jesus?
The belief in Him is a guarantee. We have salvation and eternal life if we just believe and have faith in Him. Our belief tank is filled with things with no guarantee and with stuff that we can’t necessarily control the destiny of anyway.
We often believe in things that have evidence of proof. Things that we can touch, feel, see, and even have examples being displayed to us in our daily lives. But some of us don’t believe in Jesus. We believe in all kinds of historical figures because of evidence and documented proof. But some of us don’t believe in Jesus. I understand that believing in what we do not see can be challenging but our freedom of choice has taken our eye off the most secure belief with the ultimate reward.
Jesus believes in us and if we take a look again at the examples I listed above we will see that those beliefs are based on history or evidence of some kind. So I ask the question… why doesn’t His history or evidence make you believe?
For we live by believing and not by seeing.
