Have you ever heard the phrase “white knuckled”? It merely means that you are holding onto something so tight in apprehension to not wanting to let go and face that something that is in front of you out of fear. Your first roller coaster ride comes to mind for most. Or for others, how about the ride of your life with God?
Today, God again has moved me and provided examples of His power and how He moves in not only my life but others that I love. When we are led by the Spirit we are driven to love and have faith that God will provide as soon as we let go and release that grip. He is moving all around me…
In my Godly wife who is my ultimate helper here on earth and my spiritual inspiration. I thank God daily for this beautiful soul.
In my step-son who just today exclaims that he wants to be baptized and continue to commit his life to Christ. Amen!
In the life of a co-worker who continues to tell me glimpses of the Spirit inspiring and moving his family.
We are told in scripture that “we can do all things in Christ who strengthens me” (Phillipians 4:13) and when we let go of that handrail that stands between us and that ride of fear we soon realize that. We are wired to want to take over and control our destiny and squeeze our grip so hard that we stifle, deter, or often lose the opportunity that God is providing. Sometime what He is providing is not a positive opportunity but a problem or trial that we need to go through so that we grow not only as person but also in our faith and reliance on Christ.
Romans 5:3-5 sums it up perfectly,
We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.
So, when we are heading up the hill on the ride and the car you are sitting in reaches the top just let go and put your hands in the air. Release the fear and raise your hands to God. He will make sure that you are safe and you will have the time of your life.
