I had the great opportunity to see this Welsh Tornado named Gareth Pearson play the guitar in April, 2011. Not only did he impress me with his playing style and incredible talent, but he was also a performer without the guitar. Often when you see an acoustic player perform, sitting or standing in one place is choice but not for Gareth. He uses the whole stage as his palette and throws in a few dance moves that include the moonwalk during Billie Jean and Thriller. Gareth doesn’t need cover songs to grab your attention but uses them to engage his audience and have fun in the show. The energy that he conveys is infectious and leaves you wondering what you can do to inject energy into your own performance however, I don’t think the moonwalk is going to work for me.
