Short Break for FP

Prior to the Ichthus Festival in Wilmore, Ky, Jules and I decided to take a break from playing and writing for a little while. We began asking ourselves “what’s next and where do we go from here?”. The last year was a blast and and unbelievable in many ways and we may have feared not being able to repeat the excitement, or better yet, do more. We had gotten to the point of trying to push our destiny ourselves instead of allowing it to naturally take place. I believe that we stopped focusing on the two reasons we started in the first place… praising God and having fun being musically creative. Usually if we are nervous before a show, we often tell each other that we should just be us and play like we are standing in the family room jamming on our own. This is who we are and this is who we should stay.

Since the break, both Jules and I have grown musically on our own and our spark has returned. I have continued to study and be inspired by many artists from CandyRat Records and Jules has brought the keyboard into her writing process and new songs have spawned from it. Faith Passage will return to playing and writing and new events have began to surface. We have met so many great musicians and followers of Christ on our journey and we wouldn’t trade it for anything. Sometime you just have to stop pushing and enjoy the moment you are in. Faith Passage stopped, took a deep breath, and now we are ready for this next year.
